SELDEN H. TALCOTT before graduating from the New York Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital in 1872 served in the Civil War with the Fifteenth Regiment of the New York Volunteer Engineers. His homeopathic career predominately dealt with the care of the mentally ill as he stood at the helm of the Middletown Asylum (also known as the Middletown State Homeopathic Hospital) for some 25 years.
